Before starting
Keep warm serving plates by placing them on the stove.
Preparation
Preheat oven to 190 ° C / 375 ° F.
Coat the halibut steaks.
Heat the butter and oil over medium heat in a skillet. Sauté steaks, to color, 1-2 minutes per side.
Transfer the fish in a baking dish. Press half the oranges and pour the juice over the fish. Cut the remaining orange slices and place on steaks keeping a few slices to garnish the plate thereafter. Salt and pepper.
Bake in center of oven for about 12 min. The time depends on the thickness of the steaks but the actual temperature of your oven, it is important to check for doneness with a fork.
Serve on hot plates. Drizzle with pan juices. Garnish with the remaining orange slices.
